LINE’s New Japanese Large Language Model (LLM)

In July, I reported that Yahoo! Japan and LINE would merge into one company. Today, the official announcement came from LINE.
“LINE Corporation and Yahoo Japan Corporation will integrate into a single company as of October 1, 2023, becoming LY Corporation.
With this reorganization, the name of the provide of LINE official accounts and the various services currently being provided by LINE Corporation will change to LY Corporation beginning October 1, 2023.”
LINE and Yahoo! Japan have been incorporating each other’s services. As a part of this merger, the search function on LINE was switched to Yahoo! Japan back in June.
